BIOintestil® Complex

The majority of microorganisms with which the human body establishes a symbiotic relationship, including bacteria, fungi, and viruses, reside in the intestine and are collectively called the intestinal microbiota. These microorganisms play a crucial role in the metabolism’s homeostasis, the regulation of the immune system, and the protection of the human body from invasion by pathogens.

Dysbiosis is a condition of the intestine characterized by an alteration in the composition of the intestinal microbiota. Dysbiosis has been associated with the onset of many inflammatory diseases, infections, and functional disorders, including IBS, a common disorder that affects the large intestine. BIOintestil® complex provides relief from the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) by modulating the intestinal microbiota.

Eubiotics are positive modulators of the gut microbiota that do not belong to the category of probiotics, prebiotics or postbiotics. The term refers to various natural substances such as certain essential oils that can positively modify the gut microbiota. The general term ‘eubiotic’ is related to the Greek term ‘eubiosis’ and refers to an optimal balance of the microbiota in the gastrointestinal tract. The main purpose of using a product with eubiotic action is to maintain or restore intestinal eubiosis. BIOintestil® complex is an innovative eubiotic food supplement.

The product provides valuable support in the management of disorders associated with IBS, but it does not work in the same way as probiotics or prebiotics. It cannot be considered a probiotic, nor does it help other microorganisms to grow, so it cannot be considered a prebiotic. It is not an antibiotic (it cannot kill all micro-organisms in general, nor pathogens such as Salmonella) but acts selectively by counteracting the growth of only ‘possibly’ pathogenic bacteria, the so-called ‘opportunistic pathogens’.

These are bacteria commonly found in the gut, which can cause dysbiosis and even disease when they grow above a certain number and at the expense of other gut bacteria. Therefore, a eubiotic such as BIOintestil® complex helps to maintain the right levels of opportunistic pathogens without affecting commensal bacteria and can help to make the environment conducive to rebalancing the microbiota by also regulating digestive function.

In the innovative BIOintestil® formulation, the use of ginger rhizome powder in the mixture allows the geraniol to remain adsorbed in the fibre and pass intact through the first tract of the intestine. As a result, geraniol is released topically in the colon in a high percentage, promoting a natural rebalancing of the colonic microbial community.

BIOintestil® complex can be used together with medications and other supplements. However, the use of BIOintestil® complex is not recommended in conditions of liver or kidney insufficiency, in individuals with coagulation-related disorders, or in conjunction with anticoagulant therapies.

BIOintestil® complex is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but it is advisable to seek medical advice.

Take 1 to 3 gastro-resistant capsules of 600 mg per day, preferably in three divided doses before or during meals, with the help of a glass of water.

BIOintestil® complex does not contain sugars.

The base ingredients of BIOintestil® – Palmarosa and Ginger – do not naturally contain Gluten. However, the supply chain is not certified Gluten Free, so BIOintestil® may have traces of Gluten derived from the production process.

Even though the base ingredients – Palmarosa and Ginger – used in BIOintestil® complex are inherently vegan, the production process is not certified as vegan.
